The Kim Kardashian photo that outraged Sinead O'Connor

Outspoken Irish star Sinead O'Connor has urged fans to boycott top music magazine Rolling Stone after editors made reality TV star Kim Kardashian their latest cover girl.

Kanye West's pregnant wife graces the cover of the publication's July 16-30 issue in a sailor's cap and a low cut shirt, which also shows off her bra and ample cleavage.

After seeing the image for the first time, singer O'Connor took to her Facebook page to repost the image, and blast editors of Rolling Stone for putting a reality TV star on their cover.

She added the caption, "What is this c*** doing on the cover of Rolling Stone? Music has officially died. Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it? (The X Factor bosses) Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be f**king horrified."

This isn't the first time O'Connor has stirred up controversy - last year she accused Miley Cyrus of contributing to the sexualisation of young girls with her saucy music videos and revealing stage costumes and dubbed Lady Gaga a bad influence on young music fans.

It's nice to hear what the stars of 1989 have to say about the state of pop culture. I hope Kadeem Hardison weighs in soon. #SineadOConnor
