Gomez has described herself as “a proud third-generation American-Mexican” in regard to her ancestry. and “We attend the communion church, and my family does celebrate quinceaneras. We practice everything Catholic, but aside from Sunday barbecues in the park, we don’t really follow any traditional customs.” Until the age of seven, Gomez spoke Spanish with ease.

When she was five years old, her parents got a divorce, and she stayed with her mother. Gomez has three younger siblings: Victoria “Tori” and Marcus Gomez through Ricardo and his second wife, Sara, and Gracie Elliot Teefey and Brian Teefey through Mandy and her second husband, Brian Teefey.
